The purchase was a disaster from the very beginning. I ordered the pool in the Massapequa store from a young 21 year old kid.

I ordered the pump along with a salt filter. He neglected to tell me that these two filters required separate installation dates. My pool got delivered and the delivery man said "your lucky you have nothing on backorder, this is the first pool today that had nothing on back order". The install crew came and charged me $70 to install the steps.

Well the pool is installed and we started filling it. The crew informs me that they can't install the stairs until the pool has a foot of water in it. " do you have someone who could help you install the stairs ? " What did I just pay you for ?

To snap the stairs together ? Something my 9 year old could have done. They left with no instructions on how to install the steps, run the filter nor did they tell me I had add the salt to the pool several days before the salt filter is installed. My pool was installed on a Wednesday I called that day to schedule the salt filter installation.

They couldn't give me an appt until the following Wednesday . I had to go in to the store to fight for Monday. I was standing there when the Store Manager Matt made the call to the installation department to schedule it for Monday. Well Monday came, I called to confirm the installation and "they didn't have my appt until Wednesday".

I immediately went down to the store to speak to the Sales Manager "for the day" Eric. No resolution nor any sympathy or remorse. Very matter of fact and very poor business etiquette . I then get referred to the installation department.

I speak to "chris" in installation who is of no help to me. I call back to the customer service department and guess who answers the phone the same *** "chris" who of course is still no help to me. I went back to the store and speak to "Eric" the Sales Manager for the day. Well of course he is gone for the day.

I head over to the installation department that is two doors down in the same shopping center. Doors are locked and they are open until 10 pm. I call and ask to speak to Chris I was told he was gone for the day also. I informed them that Chris told me he was there until 10 pm.

They said no he is not and then they put me on with "Mel". Well after speaking with Mel for a few minutes a miracle happens. Chris shows up. He must have been outside with Eric the sales manager from the store who was also gone for the day.

I just kept getting the run around. Chris informed me he would call me back in one hour. Needless to say I never received a call. I called back after one hour and was told Chris was busy.

I told Mel I would hold on.

He left me on hold for 45 minutes until they closed the store. Then a recording came on "we are closed " My experience with Island Recreation was a NIGHTMARE !!!

Reason of review: too many to list.

Monetary Loss: $1.

Preferred solution: Leave me alone and stay far away from Island Recreation.

Get over it. All you people that shop there do is complain and feel some type of entitlement.

I have shopped there for 31 years without a problem. Try being nice and perhaps you will have the results I have had.

Good response. Yet another, and I love the word "entitled" person. Probable complains about everything under the sun.
